5th Walk for the Environment

The 5^th Walk for the Environment happened on Sunday, June 13, 2010, a partnership involving Komatsu do Brasil, the Municipality of Suzano represented by its Bureau for the Environment and SESI, had the participation of some 2.2 thousand people.

Rallying point was on the Cidade das Flores Park at 8:30 am, where all participants received their Kit comprising a reusable bag, T-shirt and bottled water; than, they proceeded towards the Suzano SESI along Baruel, Francisco Quadra Castro, Missionária Sarah Cooper, Nove de Julho, Sete de Setembro Streets and Senador Roberto Simonsen and Mogi das Cruzes Avenues, for a total distance of about 2 km that took one and a half hours to complete.

The Walk had the support of 60 volunteers (employees and family members from Komatsu and SESI), and about 2 tons (2.000kg) of food supplies were collected and donated to the AAMAE NGO (Association for Assistance to Women, Teen-agers and Criança Esperança).

Purpose of the Walk was to make people aware of the importance of preserving our natural resources and the environment.
